Hi! Love your books and creations inside. Question about the first book because it looks as if you used felt for the spine. Did you glue it or put it on something? Or is it just a piece of felt? I love that look and also love the idea of figuring out how to put a vintage fabric down as the spine. TIA!
Hey Rachele - I glued the felt to fabric first and then I stitched it onto the covers as I did the leather on te big green one. The book is stuffed so it is miraculous that it held together!
Magic! I love this so much and/but a little bit of my heart is hurting from the knowledge that last time we moved house I got to a point of overwhelm that saw me chucking SO MANY old book covers that I had kept specifically to make new books/journals from. But that’s ok. We move forward and now I will find joy in scouring sales and “free book” tables at local libraries to find the perfect covers.
Margaux I loved this video. It was so nice to watch the process, warts and all! I love making books. I’ve been looking for access to a guillotine cutter. I’ve decided I’m going to have to buy my own. Can you tell me about yours? Thank you, Martha
Thank you Martha! This is part of a big book press that I ordered from a maker in Portugal I think. I actually don’t remember the business name. I’ll have a look in the barn!
Thank you Margaux! For this book are you using signatures of three? I would like to make one with 80 lb paper and thinking about what might work well for signatures.
Thank you for another great tutorial. Your book binding tutorial on YouTube is my go to and I have made so many sketchbooks already with and without covers. Love watching your process and all the beautiful imperfections and improvisations.
I started my day with an idea of making a covered journal. Thank you Margaux- I enjoyed every part of your journal making, so much so I bought myself a cobblers hammer on line in the evening.
“I love taking things and Frankensteining them together . . .” Ah Margaux! This was so helpful. I love the end result! I thought your journaling on the end papers made it extra-special.

Thanks as always, for sharing your Magic ways xo
Yes! There will always be more of the old (until there isn't!) but not in our lifetimes. Though I understand the heart hurting of it...

Hey Amy - I used four folded pages in each signature.

Thank you Ute — This is so nice to read. I hope to keep them coming!

Oooh! Fun! Love (presumably?) old tools. I hope your bookbinding goes well -
You are inspiring me to make books. I will need to find a class. That is so cool.
We have tutorials on our website and You Tube. They are very followable and build-onto-able!

Thank you Ann! I did like the end sheet scribbles in the end. Always pleased for the unexpected which always comes a-knockin’!
Thank you!
