Violette Ink from Golden Green Grain
100+ Year Old J. Herbin Ink in Wrapping and Capsule

These little vittles are a delight!
I came upon a box of antique ink in beautiful little wrappers. Inside the wrappers are capsules that dissolve in warm water.
I put the container and the container’s contents, a ‘stew’ google translated for me, into hot water and violet bloomed. It was messy. I am messy, and now I have a lot to scrub. Be neat about it! I let the purple sit for an hour or more on my white sink and I cannot clean it all off.
I cannot find much information on the ink. Do share if you know more! They seem to have been made sometime around the late 1800s - early 1900s. I suspect not many are around because if they get wet, well, a violety mess transpires.
We have a limited quantity available in our shop!

Ps: I found a Fountain Pen Guy on You Tube making the ink and trying it in a fountain pen:
I am intrigued - will these be in your shop? Vibrant color! Recently started using fountain pens and using my inks as intended, in a pen. ;)
Have you tried Barkeepers Friend on the sink yet? If not, do try it.
